Wisconsin Eye-Link Grants Reach Record Levels
We are excited to share with you that Eye-Link Wisconsin is receiving record levels of assistive equipment grant applications! This month another seven vision boosting grants have just been approved for people facing economic hardship.
The surge in applications reflects both the growing awareness of Eye-Link Wisconsin's programs and the increasing need for assistive technology among Wisconsin residents living with low vision and blindness. Each grant provides life-changing equipment — from video magnifiers and screen readers to braille notetakers and handheld magnifiers — that helps recipients regain independence and quality of life.
Among this month's recipients are individuals ranging from young students navigating school with visual impairments to seniors who have lost much of their sight to macular degeneration and glaucoma. For each of them, the right assistive technology opens doors that vision loss had closed.
Eye-Link Wisconsin is a volunteer-driven organization, which means that 93 cents of every dollar donated goes directly toward purchasing equipment for grant recipients. Our low overhead model ensures that your generosity has maximum impact.
If you know someone in Wisconsin who is losing their sight or is legally blind and could benefit from assistive technology, please encourage them to apply. And if you would like to help us meet this record demand, please consider making a donation today.
