Eye-Link Wisconsin has granted six vital assistive equipment packages free of charge!
The Eye-Link mission is simple and straight forward. We provide a wide array of highly specialized assistive equipment to family members, friends, and neighbors who are struggling with uncorrectable sight loss. Adaptive or assistive technologies are hardware and software packages that give a “voice” output to computers, smart phones, household mail, package and can labels, and even prescriptions containers. Receiving this unique equipment brightens the lives of anyone whose eyes are permanently dimming.
Recent data shows that approximately 4% of world population centers have irreparable sight loss! Our experience at Eye-Link indicates that the number may be closer to 5% of any given population. We find that more and more grant applicants are afflicted with MacD, Macular Degeneration. Wisconsin has over 50,000 people challenged with sight loss. You probably know or have a family member, friend, neighbor, or work colleague who is starting to or is losing their functional sight. Children, teenagers, and seniors who are granted these unique life altering technologies from Eye-Link Wisconsin tell us that they immediately begin to reacquire their sense of independence and regain self-sufficiency. Adaptive equipment can also put grant recipients on a path to employment!
